Alot of catching up to do...

I am such a horrible blogger...or one busy mommy- time just seems to get away and after a long day at work I never remember to post the adorable pictures of our sweet little B.
So much has happened over the summer, and Brody is becoming such a big boy. He is such a kind hearted little boy and so sensitive in many wonderful ways. Not a day goes by that he does not tell Mike and I how much he loves us, how he doesn't want to get big because he wants to be with us forever, and how he loves "his family".
About 2 weeks ago, Nana Connie was doing an overnight with his cousin Kenz and offered to keep Brody too. He was so excited for a sleep over as it is a VERY rare occassion that he be anywhere but with Mommy and Daddy (but we wouldn't have it anyother way). Mike and I tried to talk him out the sleepover because we knew we would miss him. (Night time is our family time, away from busy work days, after Mike has gone to the gym and Brod and I have taken care of Bubba.) But there was no talking him out of it. A night with Kenz and Nana...he was FULL of excitement. Mike and I literally walked around the house like lost puppies- it is not a usual thing that we spend time away from our guy. So before going to bed around 9ish- Mike called his mom to see how Brod was doing and to say goodnight. Nana told Mike that Brody had been asking for the past 20 minutes or so, if he could "go home to his family", and how much "he missed his family". Mike and I were so excited, jumped out of bed, jumped in the car in P.J's and all to get our boy...but he fell asleep on our drive there. Regardless, he had a great semi-sleepover. He always loved time with his Nana and cousin, but loves time with "his family" too:)

Brody starts his 3rd year of Pre-school next week. He is so excited. Below is his "family" picture that he will have posted at school.

We bought the sweetest horse our family could ever ask for at the end of May, 2012. Brody is my daily helper at the barn. We have a wonderful routine of going to the barn nightly to clean Bubba's stall, turn him out to run around or to ride. Brody LOVES going with me and knows all the horses by name. Above is a picture of him with a horse named Doc. Brody helps me feed 2 days a week. Animals give children a sense of responsibility and I am so happy Brody will have Bubba in his life for many more years.

Bubba (below) adores Brody. He is so gentle and so kind, never spooks and always lowers his head to Brody's level so he can pet him. We are so lucky to have found him.

Catching up on time missed...

I haven't been able to find the time to blog lately so I am attempting to play a little "catch-up". Brody is doing wonderful as ever, and smarter than any kid I know his age. He amazes me each and everyday with the things he comes up with and the things he is able to do all on his own. He is always wanting to learn. While driving in the car, we often play the "what does that start with game".The game is pretty simple, I say a word and sound it out and Brody tells me what letter it starts with. He knows his full alphabet by sound and can easily pick out a letter in his flash cards as it is called. He can even use Mikes I-Phone better than I can!! I am still a Blackberry girl, IPhone is too high tech for me with all the touch screen stuff, but Brod can navigate himself everywhere and even download free games without help. He knows all of his colors and shapes and numerous songs and stories. He simply amazes me.

Often Brody sees dad flexing his muscles so Brod decided to give it a shot to show the world what he was made of.
He loves his tool bench and loves creating objects of all kinds.
 And....he is a little ham!

Lara and Rita take Kenz to the fair every year. We went with them last year and since Brod had so much fun, we took him again Saturday night. He and Kenz had a blast. he was fearless!!
